The RPSI are delighted to announce the arrival of a limited edition run of our Cravens coaches in model form. Produced in 1/76 scale, the limited edition pack feature open coaches 1505 and 1532 along with snack car 1508. The models will only be available as a complete set in their own specially commissioned box. All funds raised from the sale of these coaches will go towards the purchase of a water bowser truck for our steam operations with any remaining funds going to support the restoration of our 121 class locomotive 134.

This production run is limited to 250 units and are sure to be popular with modellers/collectors and supporters of the RPSI. It would be the intention that should these models sell out there will be a subsequent production run of three further open coaches. This will allow people to create and authentic length train of RPSI Cravens coaches. The cost for the limited edition pack will be €159.99. It would be the intention that these models will be available for purchase on the upcoming Munster Double railtour on the 14th of October.

Details and availability of the models for general ordering and sale will be confirmed shortly.

The RPSI would like to acknowledge the great assistance from Paddy Murphy of Murphy Models in the creation of these models and thank him for his ongoing support of the RPSI.

Wonderful news and a great idea about MM RPSI cravens. That's Christmas sorted by a rake. They look superb. I'd been wondering about doing some resprays but the thin black lining between the blue and cream seemed beyond my ability. Looking forward to these and it's only two and a half weeks before they are available. Congrats to all involved. Didn't see this coming.

Stunning! The blue & cream is a lovely livery - a big improvement on the all blue with yellow stripe.

I hope to pickup a set on the Munster Double tour

Going to be a fantastic set and at only 250 units I can see them selling out. One thing I hope is that a second set is commissioned unlike the RPSI Mk2 set. There are still a few of these around and a second set was promised to be commissioned if they sold out which they more or less have a few years now. Granted more of the RPSI Mk2s would required some modifications.

Anyway, back to these Cravens, love the livery and will be picking up a few sets when released, it would be nice if they make the October show.

Now, if someone were to release a high end RTR GSV in maroon and past liveries....

You read my mind. Just started a GSV conversion that was destined for B&T livery, but I think it will now be RPSI/LMS crimson livery :)

Something tells me there won't be any 121s to buy this year, just can't see it happening. There are other MM items that were due since early this year too that have not made an appearance. Re release of the ST Mk2s, the 201s in the interm and new Enterprise liveries, Cravens 1509 running number.

A welcome and useful addition to any modern image Irish layout, well done to the RPSI and Paddy Murphy,

This is sure to be a winner and one that is guaranteed to sell out quickly

I understand Marks Models may have the RPSI/MM Craven sets in stock in a few weeks.

Well at the rate things have been happening in the last 48hours, nothing would surprise me in relation to timing of the 121. :) Can't see a big demand for more MM 201s when so many are still on shelves, same with ST Mk2s, but the MM 121s should fly off the shelves.

Fantastic looking models and I'm really looking forward to them. Pity that the second set is proposed to consist of three open standards instead of two standards and bar car 1514. To my mind this would produce a more representative train.

I agree 100% that including 1514 would really make this a wonderful set if the second run is to be produced. I haven't traveled on the RPSI set since they acquired them from IE so I haven't seen the interior of 1514 some pics ( in a dedicated thread as not to derail this one ) would be appreciated to see if one of the standards could be converted. Would folks be happy enough if they just blanked out windows 4 and 5 on a standard and numbered it 1514. Anyway I will definitely support this as the RPSI is a great society and they deserve all the support they get.

Had the pleasure of seeing 073 and the lovely cravens at GAlway yesterday. This 3 pack will be classic.

Agree a 1514 would be nice. Wiggy over on RMweb posted a nice video of his beautifully resprayed RPSI set which included 1514 Bar car with the window panels covered over. Certainly wets the appetite for the Murphy Models RPSI craven set due to ship in only two weeks time.
