Kirley
Would CIE have had Royal Tiger Coaches in their fleet, I'm thinking of a respray?
Tarabuses
CIE had a large number of Royal Tiger coaches in the fleet but not with that style of bodywork. Edited September 26, 2015 by Tarabuses
Kirley
Thanks Tony, my knowledge of buses is nil so that's very helpful.. I'm still on the hunt for the CIE Buses in Red and White livery, I know Jim Poots did some many years ago before I had an interest in this hobby but none are available now. Old Blarney
Kirley, Have a look at this link- http://www.ehattons.com/89822/Oxford_Diecast_76SET38_Southdown_Centenary_Set_Leyland_Royal_Tiger_Weymann_Fanfare/StockDetail.aspx The coach on the right hand side of this picture bears a strong resemblance to the CIE, U Class, Touring Coaches (Royal Tigers). The CIE coaches were modelled on this and had additional windows built into the roof sides. The colour used by CIE was Primrose Yellow and Grey. Each coach was named after a river and carried the Flying Snail emblem. Google - CIE U Class Bus - The first image is the Coach and the second the bus version. Old Blarney The U class turned out in primrose yellow were nicknamed 'Banana Boats' (a hit of the time was Harry Belafonte's 'Banana Boat Song'!) Latterly the U's were predictably known as 'U Boats'.
