If anyone wants to take the idea forward a notch they can use the data from these polls to add a concrete base to their case and see if there is any desire for such a project to occur. First, find out if people are willing to pay up front. Then find out exactly what most people want and take it from there. But in the four years it would take to churn this model out I'd imagine that 3d printers will have reached a high enough quality so we'll be knocking these out from our desktops! Oops, been skewing that statistic a little GD as I viewed the new comments that were posted pretty regularly. But yes, have seen all the usual suspects on the thread but that's not a lot of people. Based on BK's? recent stats there are hundreds of people on this site. I'm presuming (Mod, correct me if I'm wrong) but only members can vote on this poll? I notice when I'm on the site that there are several members but many more guests at any one time. They may be modelers that do not happen to be members or casual passers-by, I'm not sure. I'd need to refer back to those stats on that thread. This is not a general election for another rainbow coalition:rolleyes: If you want to have the possibility of a new model you've got to vote, folks. Even if its no, please still let us know that you're not up for this. You don't have to post any comments. We have 603 members, of whom 202 visited the site in the last month (defined as 'active' as a result) We do see a large amount of non signed-up traffic, which is normal enough, most members will read and lurk for (in some cases) months before joining. First choice of liveries could be a problem as economies of scale would preclude doing say three runs in different liveries. Secondly there are two possible 'crowd' scheme options, one where folk are not shareholders and simply prepay for loco stock, alternatively where folks prepay what is in effect equity in a scheme. In the former the sole 'owner' earns revenue going forward, wheras in the second it is shared by the group members (ie stock or dividends), but this can be costly to administer. Just a thought. After that it's up to individual(s) to take the data to the next left if they so wish to do.
